Outreach- Week 7&8- Brits

During our stay we visited 13 different Primary Schools in the surrounding area, 2 Youth Groups, two Pre-Schools, a school for special needs children, a hospital and a Youth Prison. We also had the opportunity of leading another church service at the Shekinah A.G.S Church in Brits. We want to thank Liaan Jordan for organizing all the above for us as a team (Prys die Here!).

We were encouraged to see God's work through us as a team during this time, especially at the Primary Schools where literally hundreds of young children put up their hands and prayed a prayer in order to have a closer, more intimate relationship with God. All the dancing, sweat, blood and tears were definitely worth it! We also had one very special Youth Service in which we were able to apply all we had learnt about the Holy Spirit from Stefan Hugo during our DTS lecture phase; praying for young men and woman of God to receive baptism of the Spirit. Some even received physical, emotional and spiritual healing during this time.

At the Youth Prison we were able to lead ten young men to Christ at the end of our program. We were also able to use some money that we had received from others during our outreach to bless the young men with new Bibles. They were so eager when we delivered them that it turned into a mini Bible study session.

We were blessed on our day off to visit Dikhololo reserve as day visitors: we lounged around the pool and ended the day off with a game drive (in our own Kombi) through the reserve. We spotted some Kudu, Eland, Impala's, Zebra (which Luke managed to touch!), Guinea fowl (or as Mike refers to as blue-headed chicken's) Blue Wildebeest, a lone Jackal  and a domestic house cat (earlier at the pool). Sorry Joy, maybe well find the Giraffes next time :(

Again, we were blessed with great hospitality, food, swimming, braai's and amazing people (even some crocodiles as neighbors!). Next stop: PRETORIA! Prys die Here!

Outreach-Weeks 5 & 6-Mafikeng

Once again we were off to a rocky start, or rather, a push-starting exhibition all the way to Mafikeng. At road stops the team could be heard shouting, "Don't switch him off!" LOL! Our first weekend in Mafikeng we had the privilege of being part of the AOG Missionaries Conference, were we performed at the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as an open-air midday service on Saturday.

During our (very hot 37degrees!) stay we visited the Rotarus Old Age Home three times, spending times both performing and praying one-on-one/ fellowshipping with the elderly. We also visited Danville's Primary and High Schools, were we performed and also had a chance to go class to class (at the high school) encouraging the kids to keep working hard and dreaming big for the future, as well as answering some random questions about any of the non-SA countries. The second Saturday we visited a local hospital with some of the youth from AOG where we were very encouraged while praying for the sick. Some were even dancing and singing up and down the hallways being led by a youth playing a guitar.

We were fortunate enough to lead both the Friday evening Youth service, as well as Sunday morning's AOG service (Mike did a great job on his first time preaching!!) Once again the hospitality was amazing (warmer than the weather, if that's even possible). We were treated to some yummy potjie-kos and braais, including cow-tongue (which was an interesting experience to some...) We were very blessed during our time in Mafikeng and hope to continue experiencing the movement of God through us in Brits.
